Over the last two weeks my doctor was monitoring me to assure my blood pressure levels were on point. On Thursday of last week, I was dilated 1cm & sent to the hospital to have a stress test run on the baby & after a few hours, I was released.
Michael & I went to dinner 5 minutes from the hospital & as soon as we were seated I began feeling contractions. Throughout the night I was awakened by some more intense contractions, but I didn’t really think much of them. Well Friday happened to be my last day of work, so I woke up & got dressed & made my way, anticipating the lavish breakfast spread & the start of summer. While I was driving the contractions wouldn't let up & there was a 7 minute pattern. I walked into work and immediately told my good friend Amanda & she seemed a little concerned for me. She called over another teacher who told me to immediately call my doctor & so I did. I was told to make my way to labor & delivery & so I did…after stopping to have my other good friend Angie drive me to the hospital. In the mix of it all, I had Michael at home throwing together a hospital bag, because I procrastinated duh… lol
We arrived at the hospital at 9:30 and I was dilated to 3cm and within the next hour I dilated to 4cm & contractions were becoming increasingly unfriendly. The nurses decided to admit me & we made our way to room #11 (baby's favorite number)… and by “we”, "we" was a crew: Michael, Marie, Angie, Jessica, & my dad.
Oh those contractions kept coming… epidural PLEASE. Everyone hungout watching dvds in our spectacular private room bigger than most efficiency apartments, while I slept through the most intense contractions & before we knew it, it was go time! Everyone got the boot except my husband (sorry Ang) & he was all the support I needed. The nurses were wonderful & after an hour of pushing, our little angel was finally here & I’m so excited for you all to meet him…
