Summer Wrap Up

Here we are… two months after giving birth to my son. Today he weighed 11lbs 12oz & he’s now 24” long. They really do grow SO fast& here’s my take on the real deal on becoming a mommy.

  • Everyone tells you, “rest as much as possible before you have the baby”… TRUST THEM.
  • Everyone tells you, “sleep when the baby sleeps”… TRUST THEM.
  • When the battle of sleep vs. eat arises, sleep will win.
  • The first few weeks of breastfeeding SUCK ... but I promise it will get better.
  • Should you choose to breastfeed, the word discrete belongs to Webster, not you. Every female friend/family member that visits will have front row seats to the titty show & you won’t care. Tell them to bring dollar bills if it makes you feel better.
  • It is CRAZY to see yourself in your baby’s physical appearance
  • You will be an emotional lunatic…husbands need MUCH more warning about that. (Sorry baby, but thank you for loving me & grinning & bearing)
  • It is AMAZING how messy your house will become IF you don’t stay on top of it (which you probably won’t)…and because of this, unannounced visits are a no No NO.
  • The first few times you see your baby smile, your heart will melt & you might even cry… at least I did
  • It is the most incredible feeling to know that you created & carried that little baby… God is soooOOoo amazing.
So when I say you will be tired, let me tell you HOW tired you will be…

One night I was so tired and needed to turn off the light…well in my delirious state I was dreaming I owned the clapper…that thing that turns on/off the lights when you clap your hands…well I startled myself in my sleep when I woke myself up clapping my hands.

Other news… Please keep us in mind during your daily prayers…

SP celebrated his 3rd Birthday on the 2nd! Potty training is still being worked out & cleaning poopy underwear is NO fun at all, so please pray extra hard on that one on behalf of the cleaner of the poopy underwear aka ME.

Marlon is healthy as can be… he can roll too! Smiles & giggles are a daily blessing.

Michael is still working like a maniac…bonuses & a job review are on the way. Reward his hard work oh Lord!

And for me work starts again next week… BooHoo. I love my job, but I’d love to win the lotto more. You don’t have to pray for the 99 million dollar Mega Millions that takes place tomorrow, 8/5/11, unless you want to… because I suppose we could get by on a lesser amount, but the drawing takes place at 10:12pm CST….just saying.

Enjoy the rest of summer! Hopefully I’ll have the chance to post again soon…and hopefully I’ll be a millionaire too :)

XOXO,
Mel

aaaaarrrrrrrggggg!!!

On my last post I spoke about Amanda, who I adore. She’s often called Gentis, and increasingly known as Photographer Extraordinaire of ARG Photographs :)

Well my dear friend has been snapping all kinds of wonderful shots of my boys… all three of them. They’re all so GREAT! It really is QUITE difficult to narrow it down to a favorite, but here are a few for your viewing pleasure.

I love my family & my life. Amanda, your work is spectacular. We love you too.

XOXO,
Mel
